When the model reads a check, you pay for the tokens it used, rounded up to the next credit. Before the call we estimate it, and a call your credits cannot cover is refused before anything is spent. A repeat of something already judged costs 1, whatever it cost the first time. Reading your review queue and asking how many credits are left are free.
